Weaving is about color, texture, pattern and design.
The finished work is the product of many stages of development with decisions
and changes made as the pattern evolves. A “mistake” becomes
the next new idea! All designs are original, usually one-of-a kind. To
me, weaving is about learning new techniques and new ways to make designs
work. This past year with a new dobby loom and 16 harnesses, the possibilities
seem endless!
Dyeing gives me the opportunity to blend subtle colors and to experiment with ways to capture unique shades of color. The dyes are environmentally friendly (no heavy metals, no excess use of water) and very color fast.
